LONG BRANCH: A major roadwork project will begin this fall as the state will be paving a large portion of Route 36/Ocean Avenue.
The road will be milled and paved from Atlantic Avenue in Long Branch to the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge (County Road 520), according to New Jersey Department of Transportation Spokesman Stephen Schapiro.
Schapiro said the exact start date for the project has not yet been announced but that it should begin and end in the fall, barring any weather-related delays.
He said he did not know if the work would be done during the day or at night at this time.
The 3-mile stretch of road serves as the main route between Long Branch and Sea Bright and also runs through Monmouth Beach.
