Sea Bright Council OK's Temporary Home For Donovan's Reef

SEA BRIGHT: Donovan's Reef has been approved by the council to begin temporary operations during the summer season while they move forward with their permanent rebuilding plan.

"We've had several meetings with the owners of Donovan's Reef and there was a resolution that was passed by the council tonight that authorized conditions for them to temporarily open on their property until their construction starts," Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long said during the June 16 Sea Bright Council meeting.

Some of the conditions for temporary opening include approval for all aspects of their liquor license by the Alcoholic Beverage Control, a handicap accessible ramp, construction permits, Monmouth County Health Department and local fire official approval.

The agreement is effective through Oct. 31, 2015, after which time Donovan's should begin construction of their new restaurant

Long said the owners are hoping to open the temporary tiki bar in July.
