SEA BRIGHT: The council has given a group approval to hold a farmer's market in the borough on Thursdays through the end of October.
The market will be in the lot on the corner of Peninsula Avenue and Ocean Ave beginning Aug. 7 and ending Oct. 30 from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. An additional market will be held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 23 at the same time and place.
The market will be run by Community Green Market Organizers, a non-profit organization from Eatontown that helped helped organize that town's farmer's market.
Council Marc Leckstein announced the agreement at the Aug. 5 Sea Bright Council meeting and said he felt the market would be beneficial for the town.
"It's going to be great, it's huge for this town to get something like that," Leckstein said. "They're donating everything, it's not costing us one cent."
The markets will feature local vendors and will be held rain or shine.
