Sea Bright Lowers Price Of Beach Lockers While Badge Prices Stay Flat

SEA BRIGHT: The cost of beach badges and related fees will stay the same for 2015, except for the cost of a season beach locker, which is $100 less.

Borough council approved the 2015 fees at its November 17 meeting, unanimously keeping 2014 prices for another year for badges.

A season beach badge bought now is $50, and after March 31 the price increases to $100 per person. Pricing for seasonal badges is $35 for seniors 65 and older, and for persons with disability. Children under 12, and active military members are free.

A daily beach badge will remain $8.

A beach locker would be $250 for the season.

Councilman Lamia, who presides over the beach committee, said the prices remained flat except for the decreased locker price, which is lower because the initial cost of investment of installing the lockers is now covered.

Now that the 2015 beach fee schedule is approved, the borough can begin selling badges for the coming season, Lamia said. "Some people give them as gifts for Christmas and such," said the councilman. "The pre-season price is half the regular price."

Residents must stop by municipal offices to buy their badges, but Lamia said the borough is looking at adding an online payment option to the Sea Bright website.

"We have vendors coming in, to share how they'd provide that online payment option," Lamia said. "We'll be seeing what options they can do. Hopefully something will be in place before the season."

Lamia urged residents to stop by in the meantime to buy a season badge. "They've all been printed."
