SEABRIGHT: The borough has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for "timed metered parking" with the possibility of adding paid parking to three borough lots this summer.
The Sea Bright Council has been discussing the possibility for over two years and now appears ready to move forward with the plan, which include seasonal paid parking in the municipal parking lot, the Anchorage beach parking lot and the borough hall parking lot.
According to the RFP, the borough will consider proposals from various vendors that provide systems either by parking pay stations or internet-based mobile applications.
"Once received, the proposals will be evaluated based on the best application for the Borough," the RFP states. "The ability to meet the needs of the residents and businesses will be critical to this selected vendor."
Responses to the RFP are due on Jan. 26. The borough will ultimately identify one or several vendors to make a presentation to a committee which will make its recommendation to the Sea Bright Council.
