Long Branch: The Senior Center on Second Avenue celebrated its annual bazaar with crafts from the Craft Clubs and donations from residents of arts and sewing clubs, plus store owners around town who added to the excitement. The Women's Soccer Team from Monmouth University added to the people-power that made for another grand success.
Center Director Pat Krosnicki "guesstimated" attendance at upward of 250 or more who kept table managers busy with beautifully crafted products and gift drawings tickets. At other tables homemade cookies and seasonal cakes were decorated to the season traditions of red and green and treats that showed the joys of the Chanukah celebration.
About 2 dozen volunteers helped with the sales plus the kitchen treats, delicious soups and chili, and other eat- n or take-out treats. Prices were very attractive, encouraging second servings.
The proceeds will go toward the Senior Center programs that go on all year. For the bazaar it was itself a most enjoyable labor of love.
