Seniors Celebrate Council at Luncheon

Long Branch: We counted 96 seniors, gals and guys at the Senior Center's Mayor and Council Luncheon a happy group enjoying the informal chats and socializing. The bands played music from the 50s to the 90s, even later. That added to the fun as many took to the dance floor for an Electric Slide, the Cha -Cha, waltzes, jitterbugs and other favorites.

Lunch was great, serving pasta, baked eggplant and salad, loaves of fresh made breads and deserts of baked treats,

Guests were served at the tables set up by the staff and volunteers from the city's Special Police volunteers. To this writer it was like a scene from a family celebration with sons and daughters enjoying their families, but in uniform.

In the photo are Center Supervisors Anna, Kacie left of Mayor John Pallone, Councilwoman Mary Jane Celli, Center Director Pat Krosnicki and Councilwoman Anita Voogt and. The every week staff is complemented by volunteers from Monmouth University, Brookdale CCC and others like church group and private citizens.

Programs at the Center are many and offered to meet the needs and wishes of the public from the city and neighbors. Among the list of programs are: Exercises. Yoga, Ceramics, Line Dancing, Choral singing, Media Art as well as choral classes, computer skills, and consumer education. To volunteer h=just stop by and talk to Pat and her team.

The Center is on Second Avenue opposite the Star of the Sea church. Plenty of parking. Membership is free and they can be called at 732- 571-6542

Pat asked to say she thanks the Council and the Special Officers, plus all the seniors who made for a super celebration.
