Several Long Branch Roads Will Be Closed Sunday Due to Marathon

LONG BRANCH: Several city roads will be closed from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 due to the New Jersey Marathon.

Patten Ave, Long Branch Ave, Broadway between Ocean Blvd and Fourth Ave, Third Ave between Broadway and Morris Ave, Franklin Ave, Second Ave, Brighton Ave between Kossick Way and Ocean Front, Ocean Blvd between Brighton Ave and Lincoln Ave, North Lake Drive, South Lake Drive, Pier Village, Madison Ave, Great Lawn Parking Lots, Ocean Terrace between Marine Terrace and Old Ocean Ave, Cooper Ave between Ocean Blvd and Beachfront, Seaview Ave between Ocean Blvd and Beachfront and South Side of Union Ave.

Police say any vehicles parked on these streets will be towed.

The full marathon will begin at Monmouth Park at 8 a.m. with the wheelchair athletes followed by wave of full marathon runners. The half marathon will begin at 6:45 a.m.

Both races will finish at the Long Branch promenade north of Pier Village.

About 3,800 runners will participate in the full marathon and the half marathon will have over 6,000 runners.
