SEA BRIGHT: A shark that was reportedly sighted off a borough beach was wrongly identified on Sunday afternoon, July 5.
The borough issued a warning around 4:30 p.m. stating that a shark was seen off Driftwood Beach Club, but the fish was later found to be an ocean sunfish.
Ocean sunfish have large dorsal fins that can be mistaken for a shark's fin.
Beach and police patrols kept people off beaches for a few hours as a precaution.
