Shore Regional 2015-16 Budget Shows No Increase

WEST LONG BRANCH: The Shore Regional Regional High School budget for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year will hold to the past school year totals, Business Administrator Dennis Kotch told the Board of Education members from Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, Sea Bright and West Long Branch.

Changes between line items reflect savings and adjustments from insurance premium savings, use of state purchasing contracts, lowered fuel costs from wholesale suppliers and transportation costs through cooperative school efforts.

The state specifies the distribution of total costs by town as determined by state formulas and applied by Shore Regional accordingly by law.

Shifts in town portions come about as property values change in revaluation by borough each year.

The figures of tax impact per $100 of property value are based on average home owner tax calculation calculated for property values used in local municipal tax workings, and are not a requirement for school cost distribution; they are calculated as a convenience for residents.

A few questions for clarification were asked.

The budget now goes forward to the county for approval.
