Shore Regional Field Hockey Coach Retires After 44 Years

WEST LONG BRANCH: Shore Regional field hockey head coach Nancy Williams has announced her retirement on Tuesday night.

After 44 years, Williams decided to call it a career and announced the move in front of her team, according to a post of the Shore Regional Field Hockey Team Facebook page.

"We all wish you well Coach, it's been an amazing journey we are all proud to have taken with you," the post states.

Williams has won multiple state titles at Shore Regional and most recently guided the team to its 13th group field hockey title during the 2013 season.

She retires as the nation's winningest high school field hockey coach with 839 career victories.
