Shore Regional Opens Art Gallery

WEST LONG BRANCH: Chiaroscuro is the new art gallery that opened last week a Shore Regional High School, including art of local, national and international sources.

The range of media was exceptional from traditional oils and water on canvas to high-tech, to porcelains, wood, metals and you-name-it.

The talents of the artists emphasized the skills and commitment of each, and reinforced the decision to set aside exhibition space by of the school administrators and the board of education when they put their trust in the students.

The title Chiaroscuro introduces the characteristics of the application and gradations of light of varying color, intensity and quality to the many art forms.

The gallery project was headed by teacher Grace-Anne Bertolami, who quickly tells you it was a team effort by the several artistic values embraced at the school, including the international influences. See the list of names on the title plaque for the names of the contributors.

The photos here cover the broad range of art displayed.
