Mayor Janet Tucci supporting local families with a heaping helping of pasta
West Long Branch: More the 200 guests came out for a fundraiser to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. Students and faculty at Shore Regional High School sponsored a Community Pasta Dinner last night which supports the SRHS Disaster Relief Fund. Donations were “Pay what you can”, and the donors were generous, a faculty advisor told WORDontheShore.
Teachers and school staffers manned the kitchen - tossing salad and serving pasta and meatballs. The Student Council with the assistance of student volunteers welcomed guests and helped with seating and bussing tables.
Special guests at last nights event were the Shore girls soccer team fresh from their 5-1 victory over Metuchen in the Central Group 1 Championship match earlier in the day. Also in attendance was Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, a Monmouth Beach resident and avid Shore Supporter. West Long Branch Mayor Janet Tucci came directly from her job with the Long Branch Schools who have also had to deal with the impact of the storm.
And let's not forget five-year old Hayden Neuhaus from West Long Branch who raised $200 from her hot chocolate stand.
