Shrewsbury: In spite of Sandy’s anticipated arrival the Kiwanis Club of Greater Red Bank held their annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday morning. The Shrewsbury Fire House was decorated for Halloween and guests were invited to come in costume. There was an Indian Princess, a Ninja and even Spiderman made an appearance.
Key Club Members from Red Bank Regional HS helped serve, while the Kiwanis flipped pancakes and cooked sausages. Shrewsbury Borough School’s Readers Are Leaders Program was the beneficiary of this year’s Pancake Breakfast. The program was designed to get kids reading. After they have reached a certain number of books their name is put on a permanent plaque at the school. The event was sponsored by Rumson-Fair Haven Bank and Trust.
