Snow, High Winds, Freezing Temps In Weekend Forecast

A frigid weekend is on tap for Monmouth County with below freezing temperatures, a high wind advisory and snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Monmouth County is expected to be on the low end of the spectrum in terms of total snowfall with a total accumulation of 1-3 inches expected by Feb. 15.

The high wind advisory is in effect for Saturday night, Feb. 14, into Sunday morning, Feb. 15 with wind gusts up to 60 miles per hours.

The National Weather Service states that the "coldest air of the season" has arrived with temperatures in the low teens. However, with the wind chill, those temperatures could fall below zero. The Saturday night through Monday morning period is "poised to be the coldest and windiest of arctic outbreaks this season."

So, be sure to make the proper precautions, bundle up and have your ice scraper ready this weekend.
