LONG BRANCH: A big crowd of music fans covered the park at West End on Sunday, a week after the Fourth. The Sonny Kenn Band brought them here and kept them glad they came.
For the band it was fun, as their connection with the audience made clear early in the program.
For those Chuck Berry fans there was his songs, and for Ray Charles-ites, his sound and music memorabilia served those fans well.
The Johnny Cash "Folsom Prison" went over real well, with Hank Williams' "Goodbye Joe" pleasing the country lovers in classic style.
The sidewalk places had good business with tables on the street side and kids in line for ice cream, with moms and dads taking as taste as well.
The 50-50 paid a Neptune NJ miss a nice $402 dollars to sweeten her night. That added to the cheers and smiles that filled another summer evening in "Fun City."
