With the official start of the 2018 Hurricane Season still days away, the Southern Caribbean has spun up a subtropical system, Alberto that is projected to track over the eastern Gulf of Mexico with eventual impact to the Gulf Coast shores of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Panhandle of Florida.
The current course beyond the gulf coast impact is well inland and far from the Atlantic coastline, which is always good news for the Jersey Shore. With the current track the rain and cool temps expected for the Sunday and Monday, Memorial Day has nothing to do with the weather coming from Alberto.
Bottom line, enjoy the summer-like weather today. Cool temps Sunday and Monday will make for less-than-ideal beach weather. And of course, with Hurricane season upon us, now is the time for preparedness, especially for those close to the coast and low-lying areas that have potential for floods.
