Pile drive testing for County Bridge O-10 on Sunset Avenue over Deal Lake will begin on or about Tuesday, March 3.
"Monmouth County is replacing the bridge on Sunset Avenue that crosses over Deal Lake," said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering. "Before a new bridge can be built, the contractor must test out the placement of the proposed piers by driving test piles."
On or about Tuesday, March 3 at 8 a.m., Kyle Conti Construction of Hillsborough, NJ will begin driving test piles for the proposed pier locations. The testing is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting.
The bridge was closed on Jan. 30 and will remain closed through May 2016. All traffic is being detoured during the construction period. Signs are posted.
Two public meetings were held on Jan. 29 to review the project and present the project schedule.
