Tarantolo Ahead By 1 Vote, Provisional Ballots Pending

EATONTOWN: Incumbent Mayor Gerald Tarantolo is ahead by one vote after the unofficial results from the Nov. 4 election were totaled.

Tarantolo, a Democrat, received 1,478 and challenger Councilman Dennis Connelly, a Republican, received 1,477 votes. The county's unofficial results say the mail-in votes have been processed but that provisional votes are "processing." Those totals should be available later today, and we will keep our readers posted.

The race for two seats on the Eatontown Council has been decided with Republican candidates incumbent Councilman Mark Regan and running mate Donna Mazzella-Diedrichsen receiving 1,551 and 1,441 votes, respectively. Democratic challengers Albert Baginsky and Matthew Jacobs received 1,327 and 1,392 votes, respectively.

The results from last night's election were not immediately available as a software issue prevented all municipalities from reporting their results.
