SEA BRIGHT: Borough residents can get a glimpse into projects planned in the next six years, as well as hear updates on how Sea Bright continues to rebuild from widespread Hurricane Sandy damage, in a town hall meeting June 12.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Cecil F. Norton Community Center, 1167 Ocean Ave.
The Sea Bright Strategic Planning Recovery Report was recently revised and submitted to the state Department of Community Affairs, and copies are available in the borough clerk's office. The report concerns the direction and initiative Sea Bright will take, as rebuilding continues about 1.5 years after Hurricane Sandy.
The meeting will also discuss Sea Bright 2020, a presentation which outlines housing, waterfront and community services the borough plans to address within the next decade. The complete presentation is also available before the meeting, at the clerk's office or on the borough website.
"Our intent is to give update on the strategic planning recovery report. As well as to provide info to larger public, what’s happening with projects mentioned in Sea Bright 2020, said Mayor Dina Long.
For example, plans to build a pavilion and replace the borough's demolished library should take shape before Memorial Day 2015. A park at the base of the Rumson Bridge is planned after 10 years.
Instead of a council meeting setting, the presentation gets a meeting of its own. The town hall-style event is to present information in the reports and discuss the information with the public.
