Tree Lighting Scheduled, Ice Skating Rink Opening In Long Branch

This Thanksgiving weekend, Pier Village will celebrate the grand opening of Ice at the Pier, one of the Jersey Shore's only outdoor ice skating rinks. Pier Village also announced the upcoming opening of Coney Waffle at the property.

"We're thrilled to bring this one-of-a-kind outdoor ice skating rink to the Jersey Shore. Ice at the Pier is a great addition to our festive winter holiday schedule that includes a holiday tree lighting, menorah lighting and New Year's Eve celebration," said Nicole Kushner Meyer of Kushner Companies. "Pier Village has become a year-round destination for local residents and tourists thanks to our vibrant mix of local retail, food and entertainment options. We've seen a 10% increase in visitors over the past year at this unique property."

The rink is made of real ice and will be located on Festival Plaza. It will be open from Friday, November 25ththrough President's Day. Booskerdoo will sell hot drinks at a concession stand right next to the rink.

Additionally, Coney Waffle announced they will open a new location at Pier Village in December. Coney Waffle was founded in Belmar and serves unique confections of waffles and ice cream, along with elaborate milkshakes.

"Coney Waffle is excited to add our unique brand to the Pier Village destination," said Joseph D'Esposito, Owner of Coney Waffle.

Party and hospitality packages are available at Ice at the Pier in coordination with Pier Village's new family game room, Boardwalk Fun 'N Games, where visitors can stop by to warm up after a day of skating. The rink will be available for corporate and private events outside of normal operating hours.

The Long Branch holiday tree lighting will take place on November 27th from 4:00-6:00pm. The Hanukkah at the Pier celebration will be on December 29th at 5:30pm. These winter events follow an exciting summer, where Pier Village welcomed new food trucks, restaurants and retail that represent New Jersey's high-quality local businesses.

Sponsors of Ice at the Pier include: McLoone's Restaurants, Twin Resources Design-Build Landscape Contractors, Asbury Park Press, Rex Signs, Planned Companies, TownSquare Media, Porsche Monmouth, Manny's Pizza Subs Salads, Buildcare, OceanFirst Bank, It's Greek To Me, Monmouth Medical Center and Circle Auto. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are still available.

The rink will be open Thursday-Sunday in December and Friday-Sunday in January and February. Hours will be 4:00-10:00pm on Thursdays and Fridays, 12:00-10:00pm on Saturdays and 12:00-8:00pm on Sundays. The rink will be open daily from December 26th to December 31stfrom 12:00-10:00pm and 12:00-8:00pm on New Year's Day.
