TINTON FALLS:The following is a press release from Trinity Hall:
Trinity Hall, an independent all-girls college preparatory high school, executed a contract with the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) to purchase a property located on Hope Road in the Tinton Falls section of Fort Monmouth. The school, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) that opened in fall of 2013, is the only all-girls independent high school in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Trinity Hall, which has a current student enrollment of 110 students, has operated from a temporary campus at Croydon Hall since 2013. It intends to begin the 2016-2017 school year at its new site in Tinton Falls, where the school will graduate its first class in May 2017.
"Over the past five years we have visited every available parcel of land or existing structure in Monmouth County where it was possible to build the facility and deliver the programming that is consistent with the school's mission statement," said Sean Clifford, board chair. "From the beginning, we have remained engaged with several potential properties and have continuously evaluated our options to ensure we pursued the best option for the future of the school."
The school received approval from Middletown's Planning Board in July 2015 to construct its campus on Chapel Hill Road in Middletown.
"While it is a positive to have options, Trinity Hall's trustees believe that Tinton Falls is a quality location for a number of reasons," said Clifford. "This includes its central location and its proximity to convenient transportation routes such as Route 18 and the Garden State Parkway."
Fort Monmouth has always been a top choice for Trinity Hall's permanent campus site.
"Since 2011, Trinity Hall has been in contact with FMERA and has toured and examined multiple buildings to assess their suitability to fulfill our mission," said Mary Sciarrillo, head of school at Trinity Hall. "Hope Road in Fort Monmouth is a very attractive site, given its central location in Monmouth County and the ability to repurpose the existing buildings and infrastructure. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to offer our existing families, as well as families of prospective students, a location that is everything we have dreamed for the future of Trinity Hall."
With regard to the property on Chapel Hill Road, Sciarrillo states, "In July, we were approved by the Middletown Planning Board to locate the high school on Chapel Hill Road. The approval was appealed by a neighbor and remains in the New Jersey court system. Our board intends to see the process through to its conclusion and will determine next steps when we reach that date."
