WEST LONG BRANCH: Mark the date, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the 4th annual Antique and Classic Car Show to be at the West Long Branch Community Center on Locust Avenue.
The community center is a classic in itself as it is the original home of the Norwood Country Club. Its membership included the Woolworths, Guggenheims, Astors, and Du Ponts. Built in the mid 1920's, it was restored in 1953 by the WLB Lions Club and presented to the residents of the borough. The Board of Trustees operates the center.
The car show is limited to automobiles 1990 or older and to the first 100 cars. It will feature antique and classic cars.
Participants can pre-register at www.wlbcarshow.com, or on the day of the event from 9 -11 a.m. Pre-registration is $12 and registration on the day of the event is $15.
The show will also feature food, awards, music, raffles, and a 50/50. Proceeds will benefit the West Long Branch Community Center, which is a self-supporting community-based organization that is not funded by the Borough of West Long Branch. There is a rain date is Sunday, Sept. 13.
