West Long Branch:Close to 200 residents came to the Fire Department's annual Spaghetti dinner on Saturday, the 24th at FD Company No.1. Maybe it was more than 200 but everyone was too busy dining and renewing friendships to count.
The Women's Auxiliary was busy in the kitchen and serving the delicious buffet and the FD Members were making sure things were all okay, and staying ready just in case the alarm should go off.
Youngsters were busy too, climbing into the truck cabs and seeing how the volunteers serve the community in emergencies.
One of the big trucks was parked outside the front door, at the ready, which gave more floor space for tables and waking around the fire house, a fascinating experience for many. The guests also contributed to the fund raising with raffle chances and a modest priced palate pleasing afternoon.
