WEST LONG BRANCH: Sunday, Oct. 22 was a brilliant Autumn day and added to the fun and community business at the borough's annual Fall Festival at Franklin Lake Park.
Residents and visitors from towns around enjoyed the trailer rides, the bouncy inflatables, the slides and the treats including popcorn and cotton candy to name a few.
The schools came with tables of toys and games, and an animal care stand from Shore Regional HS where students have taken on the commitment to helping animals be safe and properly cared for.
There was the Touch-A-Trick opportunity the kids really enjoy climbing on fire trucks and getting up close to the men and women who keep them safe.
RETIRED Recreation Commission Joe De Leonardo was there as was Debbie Ronan, two of the town residents who got the Festival idea going a few years back along with committee members and friends. They got a lot of thanks from the crowd.
Mayor Janet Tucci was among the celebrants. Her visit was unofficial... just something she loves to do.
Games with prizes kept youngsters busy when they were not on the rides or at the treat stands.
Leaves had begun to change colors adding to the delight of the day.
